August 1
– A three-car collision left people injured at Third Avenue and Jones Lake Road. An officer responded to the crash at 6:08 p.m., though it was the Washington State Patrol making the collision report. Those injured were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
– An officer responded at 1:31 a.m. to a noise complaint stemming from a Third Avenue residence. It was later determined to be a dispute, not just noise. Upon arrival, the officer determined no crime had occurred and the issue was resolved.
– At 9:15 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the 32500 block of Third Avenue after police took a report of loud music. Upon arrival, the officer saw that the music was reduced to an acceptable level.
– At 4:29 p.m. police took a complaint about loud music coming from the Masonic Lodge. An officer responded and asked that windows and doors be closed to minimize the sound.
– Police took a phone report about a possible theft. The reporting party believes someone may have stolen a passport and green card from a Madrona Avenue residence. A report was taken but there were no immediate suspects.
– Officers responded at 6:30 p.m. to the 31500 block of Third Avenue after hearing of a recent burglary. They found someone had broken a window to gain entry to a business. Multiple items were reported missing. City police contacted King County and asked that a team respond to take fingerprints. The case was placed under investigation.
July 30
– After hearing of a shoplifting incident in progress, police responded at 10:22 p.m. to the 29000 block of 216th Avenue. A suspect was arrested for third-degree theft.
– Taking a report about a possibly-stolen vehicle, police responded to a Crystal Avenue location. It was reported the vehicle in question had been stolen from an area dealership. Officers located the vehicle and contacted the people in possession. After investigating, it was found that the dealership, which recently had been burglarized, had made an error when reporting the vehicle as stolen. All were advised of the error and police departed.
– An afternoon telephone call related an instance of lewd conduct near the 32200 block of Botts Drive. Police investigated and determined that a man had ordered food from a delivery service and, when the driver arrived, the man was nude. Both the suspect and victim were interviewed and the suspect was cited for indecent exposure.
July 29
– An officer was dispatched to a Lawson Street location after a vehicle rolled into a fence and a tree. No one was injured during the incident. The Washington State Patrol completed a report.
– An employer called police, asking that they check on the welfare of an employee who had not arrived for work in days. An officer went to the employee’s home and found that he was fine.
July 28
– A burglary was reported by a Cottonwood Street resident. The victim stated he had forgotten to close his garage door at night; when he discovered the omission the following morning he also found two bicycles were missing. There were no immediate suspects.
July 27
– A citizen turned in property that had been found in the 32300 block of Second Avenue. An officer later determined the property belonged to someone at a nearby residence and had been taken during a vehicle prowl. The property was returned to the owner. Because there were no suspects the case was deemed inactive.
– A citizen called at 10 a.m., reporting someone had stolen items from her vehicle while it was parked in front of her Third Avenue residence. There was no information regarding a possible suspect. Eight minutes later, police heard from another Third Avenue resident; that caller said a vehicle had been entered but nothing was taken. One item had been moved inside the vehicle so it was taken into evidence to be fingerprinted.
– The owner of a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup reported the vehicle had been stolen. A report was completed and the incident was entered into the state’s crime information center.
July 26
– An evening phone report told of a dispute between acquaintances in the 22500 block of Southeast 298th Street. An officer provided advice on how to best handle the situation and offered information about obtaining a protection order.
– After taking a call about malicious mischief, police responded to the 22500 block of Southeast 304th Place and found that someone had caused $750 worth of damage to a vehicle. King County authorities were called to take fingerprints and the case was placed under investigation.
