Oct. 18
Vehicle Prowls: Two victims living in the same subdivision reported vehicle prowls overnight. Both vehicles were left unlocked and several items were taken. No suspects or investigative leads were available.
Oct. 22
Residential Burglary: A resident of West Tapps Highway reported an unknown subject entered the residence through a window in the garage and stole several high priced items. There were no suspects available at the time of report.
Oct. 23
Malicious Mischief: A person called to report a friend of his violently kicked his car and smashed in a window, for no apparent reason. The responding officer was unable to locate the suspect. The suspect later called 911 to claim his friend was driving under the influence. The officer informed him he had already spoken with his friend, who did not appear intoxicated. The suspect then admitted to the earlier claims. He was issued a citation for Malicious Mischief in the third degree.
Oct. 24
Shoplifting: A woman was caught shoplifting at a state Route 410 retail store. Drug paraphernalia was found in her possession, in addition to the stolen items. No contraband was found during initial pat down, but a female correction officer discovered a bag of pills, later identified as hydrocodone, concealed on the subject’s person. The subject was transported to an area hospital to determine no other items were concealed. Unlawful possession of a controlled substance was added to her charges, including retail theft and two outstanding warrants.
Residential Burglary: Shortly before noon, a resident of Angeline Road reported a break in that occurred sometime between 9:30 and 11 a.m. Access appeared to be gained through the back door, which was kicked in. The home was ransacked but only a handful of cash was taken. No investigative leads were found.
Oct. 25
Burglary: Officers responded to the report of a possible burglary. The reporting person witnessed a suspicious subject load large items into a vehicle. The subject drove away and the witness followed him to a nearby residence. Officers contacted the subject, who claimed the items were abandoned on the side of the road. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and two sheds on the property. Officers found numerous tools and work equipment inside, many of which were confirmed stolen. The subject was booked into Pierce County jail.
Under the Influence: A patrol officer stopped a vehicle for having an expired license at approximately 9:45 p.m. The driver was visibly intoxicated and uncooperative. She was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to Puyallup jail.
Oct. 26
Stealing Costumes: An adult male stole a Halloween costume from a retail store on South Prairie Road. A witness saw the man flee and yell at the young child accompanying him to follow. The child tried keeping up but witnesses said she was running through the busy parking lot by herself. The man was issued a citation for theft and reckless endangerment.
Oct. 28
Vandalism: A person called to report two windows of an unoccupied rental property were broken by large rocks. No entry was made into the home.
Fireworks in October: An officer was dispatched to the area of 84th Street East because a mailbox was blown up with fireworks. A witness reported seeing young kids running down the street a few minutes prior but officers were unable to locate any suspects.
