The artwork of Bonney Lake photographer Diana Oestreich will be featured at the city of Enumclaw’s Gallery 2012.
Oestreich creates pictures of the many forces of nature – land, sky, water and wind – attempting to capture the beauty that people often pass by.
“I’ve been fortunate to experience art in a variety of ways: traveling worldwide, working
directly with artists, earning a degree in art history,” Oestreich wrote. “But it was when my interests shifted to technology that I found my artistic passion in digital photography.”
The portability and freedom of a compact digital camera, combined with her enjoyment of the outdoors, has led Oestreich to take photographs of nature for more than a decade.
“The fine details of nature fascinate me,” she wrote. “The curve of a leaf, the patterning of water, all those extraordinary quiet moments gifted by nature are what I find most refreshing and what I strive to express and share with my images.”
All the photographs to be displayed at Gallery 2012 were taken in western Washington.
Oestreich’s work will be on display Thursday through Sept. 6.
Gallery 2012 is in council chambers at Enumclaw City Hall, 1339 Griffin Ave. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
