The city of Bonney Lake adopted Ordinance No. 1468 on Oct. 22. The ordinance declares a moratorium on the recreational marijuana industry within city limits.

The production, processing and retail sale of recreational marijuana will be prohibited in Bonney Lake. The city will not be granting licenses or permits relating to such activities due to the moratorium.

Pierce County passed a similar ordinance this summer, which temporarily prohibits the recreational marijuana industry within the county.
