• An officer stopped a vehicle at 12:17 a.m. on April 23 in the parking lot of a retail store on state Route 410. The vehicle had made several wide and fast turns. When the officer approached the driver in the car, a stong odor of intoxicants was present. The 21-year-old driver’s face was flush and he was slurring his speech. He had difficulty locating his license. A computer check reported the driver had a misdemeanor warrant out of Pierce County for failure to appear and driving with a suspended license, but his license was reinstated. The officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and when he did, he needed to lean against the vehicle for balance. Following field sobriety tests, the man was arrested for driving under the influence. He was transported to the Bonney Lake Police Station for DUI processing. At the station he provided a breath sample at 0109 hours of .149 and another at .153 at 0112 hours. He was then transported to Buckley Jail and booked.
