FORGERY: Officers on Dec. 10 were dispatched to the Rite Aid for a prescription forgery in progress. Store officials reported that a woman “acting weird” was attempting to fill an oxycodone prescription for her brother-in-law. The employee noted that the phone number listed on the tablet was incorrect for the doctor’s office and when they called the number, the person answering tried to act as if the pharmacy had called the doctor, but also got the birthday of the patient wrong during confirmation. When police first contacted the suspect, she gave police a name and address but could not give a social security number. When the officer asked who she really was, the suspect looked away and did not answer. The name she gave police returned with a warrant and police arrested the woman. A search of her purse revealed her correct information as well as a small book containing names and birthdays, including the one she gave for the prescription. She was arrested and transported to Pierce County Jail where she was booked on a charge of prescription forgery. Police are also requesting a charge of possession of prescription medication without a prescription be added.
DOPE: Police on Dec. 15 were dispatched to Walmart for a report of two suspicious males hanging around the back side of the building. Police contacted the individuals and placed them in handcuffs because they seemed like they might run. Asked if there was anything on them, one of the males admitted to having a small amount of marijuana and a pipe in his pocket. The suspect told police the two males were smoking marijuana. He was transported to Buckley Jail and booked on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
VEHICLE RECOVERY: Police on patrol Dec. 17 located an unoccupied, parked vehicle in the 17900 block of 111th Street East. The vehicle was not parked in front of a residence and was covered in frost, indicating it had been there a while. A records check revealed the vehicle to have been reported stolen in Tacoma. There was no damage to the vehicle and both plates were in tact. The vehicle was impounded and the registered owner was contacted.
BURGLARY: Officers were dispatched Dec. 18 to the 19100 block of 103rd Street East for a report of a residential burglary. The resident reported he had gone out for dinner an hour earlier and returned to find a flat screen TV and a Wii gaming system missing. The resident said he left the doors to the house unlocked and it appeared someone entered through a sliding glass door because a cat dish had been knocked over. Police are investigating.
DISORDERLY: Police in the early morning hours of Dec. 19 were called to the 21000 block of 645th Street East for a report that a disorderly suspect punched his car window and challenged him to a fight. According to the victim, the driver turned a corner and was confronted by an individual standing in the center of the roadway. When the driver stopped his vehicle, the suspect punched his windshield, smashing it, and then ran off. Police called for a K-9 unit and tracked the suspect to 214th Avenue before losing the track. Police are investigating.
SHOPLIFTING: Police on Dec. 16 were dispatched to the Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. According to store security, the juvenile suspect attempted to conceal a pack of Yu-Gi-Oh playing cards and leave the store without paying. The boy’s mother was called and she asked if the boy could be taken to jail, but the officer declined. The boy was cited and released to his mother.
PROWL: Police on Dec. 18 were dispatched to Fred Meyer for a report of a vehicle prowl. A truck driver reported that his truck had been entered and his cell phone and bag were removed. The driver found the bag in the woods after chasing a subject on a bike. Police are investigating.
BURGLARY: Police late on Dec. 18 were dispatched to the 4700 block of North Island Drive for a report of a residential burglary. According to the resident, sometime during the evening an unknown person entered the house and stole two flat screen televisions, jewelry, a game system and other items. Cupboards and drawers were also opened and their contents strewn about. Police are investigating.
