Bonney Lake’s annual tree lighting event at the Public Safety Building.

Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the city’s annual Tree Lighting Dec. 3 to commemorate the onset of the holiday season.

Festivities get started at 6 p.m. and include the parade, refreshments, music, candy and pictures with Santa Claus, all starting at 6 p.m. in the Public Safety Building, 18421 Sumner-Buckley Hwy. E.

Kiwanis also hosts a food drive from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the adjacent Bonney Lake Food Bank.

A parade was originally scheduled to open the festivities, but the city announced this week plans for a parade were canceled.
