BUCKLEY
April 1 — April 8
• Officers responded to a single vehicle collision at the Buckley skate park. They found the driver of the vehicle running around the park, entirely naked and clearly intoxicated, yelling that he was on fire. Officers detained the driver with help from the Buckley fire department, and medical responders sedated him due to his extreme intoxication level from apparent narcotics usage. He was taken to a local hospital and a search warrant for a blood draw was obtained. Officers determined the driver left SR 410 and crashed into two fences before finally landing at the park.
• Officers witnessed an argument between two men, and learned one of them had kicked a dent into the other’s car door. The suspect in this case was not cooperative until police placed him under arrest. He was booked into jail.
• An officer tried to stop a vehicle for speeding near SR 410 and Park Ave. The driver fled up SR 410 into Enumclaw, and the Buckley officer was not able to pursue. Enumclaw PD located the vehicle and got the driver, a juvenile female, to pull over. The girl was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and failing to obey an officer’s orders.
April 9 — April 15
• Unknown suspects cut through fencing at the White River bus barn and cut the catalytic converters from three school district vehicles. They also stole DeWalt tools from a business next door. Police haven’t found any surveillance video of the thefts.
• Officers responded to a fight at the skate park. They gave one of the local “juvenile delinquents” an expulsion letter from the park and a ride back home.
• Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a motorhome parked at the Econolodge, but determined no crime had been committed. The owner of the motorhome, as well as the manager of the Econolodge, were cited for allowing the motorhome to be occupied on site without City permission.
• Officers responded to a possible burglary at an abandoned residence in the 400 block of Hatch Street. They didn’t find anyone inside the first time, but checked back later after the homeowner requested as much and found a woman hiding under the porch. She was offered services and trespassed from the property.
April 16 — April 23
• An officer tried to stop a vehicle for illegal passing on the shoulder of SR 410. When the officer exited his vehicle, the driver yelled at the officer and sped off. The officer pursued the driver toward the Old Buckley Highway but lost sight and was unable to pursue.
• Officers responded to reports of a theft in progress of sheathing board at a construction site on McCauley Avenue. The suspects fled in a truck, striking a Buckley Police SUV and striking an Enumclaw Police SUV. Their truck failed and the suspects fled on foot, but with the help of outside agencies and a police dog, officers located the suspects, who were trying to get into a vehicle belonging to one of their wives. The suspects were arrested and taken to jail, including the wife who is suspected of rendering criminal assistance.
• A driver was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of DUI and failure to obey after driving twice the speed limit on SR 410.
April 24 — April 30
• Officers assisted in responding to a burglary at a Pierce County convenience store. The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene, and officers found the front doors of the business pulled off with broken glass scattered around. Surveillance footage showed the suspect stealing cigarettes. No one was located inside, and the investigation is ongoing.
• An officer saw a woman using a cell phone while driving and pulled her over. The officer arrested her for a felony warrant for her arrest and also found illicit drugs and paraphernalia.
• Officers responded to reports of a disorderly man who believed he’d been held captive at an assisted living facility and had walked away. Officers confirmed he was not being held captive and found him on the Foothills Trail east of Main Street. An officer calmed him down and convinced him to return to the facility.
BLACK DIAMOND
May 16
• Officers witnessed a two-car collision on 3rd Avenue around 5 p.m. There were no injuries, and both cars were towed away.
May 17
• Police performed a welfare check on a female on 224th Avenue SE around noon. She told officers she was upset with her ex-boyfriend’s mother and walked away from their house; she called her dad to pick her up, who did so shortly.
• Officers were told of a car vs. bicycle collision on Baker Street and 3rd Avenue around 2 p.m. The cyclist was not injured, and the driver drove him home.
• Police stopped a speeding vehicle on Roberts Drive around 9:30 p.m. It was determined the driver had a suspended license; they were cited and released.
May 18
• A defendant arriving at the Black Diamond Courthouse around 4 p.m. was determined to be intoxicated, and that she drove to the courthouse; the judge revoked her release and she was booked into the Score jail, and charges were filed.
May 19
• Officers were dispatched to 3rd Avenue SE around 1:30 p.m. due to a cement truck dropping a considerable amount of cement on the highway going northbound. The company involved sent street sweepers to clean up the mess while police conducted traffic control.
May 20
• Police were called to a SE Evergreen Street residence for a noise complaints around 12:45 p.m. The reporting party told officers someone was making too much noise bouncing a basketball at the nearby court, and insisted they were being targeted and the noise was intentional. Police told them they would not contact someone for playing basketball at the court during daytime hours.
May 21
• Officers were dispatched to 3rd Avenue around 5 p.m. in regards to an erratic driver. After stopping the car, it was determind the driver was tired; they agreed to rest before continuing.
