Street rods, cruisers, motorcycles, customs and hot rods will roll down the streets of Enumclaw Sept. 10 as The Stratocruisers Street Rod and Collectable Car Club hosts the fourth annual Cruise Into Fall Car Show.

The streets will be lined with cars from by-gone eras. Cars, that in their heyday got 12 miles to the gallon, when gas was selling for 20 cents a gallon.

The show is open for all "pre-1981" cars, trucks, motorcycles, customs and street rods and there will be a special "Under 21" class for all high school age and young adult car owners.

The show runs right down Cole Street through the center of town from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration and set up beginning at 8 a.m. There are dash plaques and goodie bags for the first 200 who register. The entrance fee is $15 per vehicle. Those who register before Sept. 1 receive a free pancake breakfast provided by the Enumclaw Senior Activity Center. The center will also offer breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. for $5.

Visitors will get to vote for the car they like best and see who gets the other awards (like best "grocery getter," or the car most likely to out-run the Enumclaw police).

Speaking of the Enumclaw Police Department, this year they will have a cruiser on site. The Enumclaw Fire Department will also be there with a live demonstration of a simulated automobile accident and extraction where they will demonstrate and explain the use of all their specialized tools, like the Jaws of Life. They will also display their vintage 1921 fire truck.

Richard Dean, from Seattle, will provide entertainment. There will be a raffle with many prizes. All raffle proceeds, and any from the car show, are being donated to local charities.

This year's show is also taking place in conjunction with Enumclaw's Jazz Festival and Art Walk.
