The Greater Bonney Lake Historical Society and the city will host a celebration for the completion of the Historic Marker Project at 11 a.m. Saturday at Allan Yorke Park.
There will be speakers, live music and festivities. The Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club will assist in the festivities.
Ten markers have been created to commemorate sites of historical importance around the city.
The project was funded by money from a grant by Pierce County and city funds.
Dennis Dhaese, president of the Greater Bonney Lake Historical Society, said the group will partner with the city to place 10 historical markers on various sites in the area. The sites are Perfield Hop Farm, Lake Tapps, the Old City Hall, Ken Simmons Resort, the Native American Gathering Place, Kelley Farm, Swiss Park, the Church of the Nazarene, the Naches Trail and Skystone.
Dhaese said the monuments will be permanent structures constructed of Wilkeson sandstone and stainless steel.
Maps leading to the marker sites will be provided following the ceremony.
