Prosecutor Mark Lindquist announced today that his office is still reviewing evidence in the Puyallup shooting, where a 13-year-old boy shot his friend. The suspect will be released to his parents and is not considered a danger to the community.

“It is more important to make the right decision than a quick decision,” said Prosecutor Mark Lindquist. “After we’ve reviewed all the reports, and we have all the evidence, we will issue a decision.”

On Feb. 6, several boys gathered at a home after school. The boy who lived at the home retrieved a shotgun from another room and showed it to his friends. He handed the gun to one of the other boys. That boy pulled the trigger and the gun discharged, striking the victim in the chest. Medics treated the victim and transported him to the hospital. He did not survive.
