The much-discussed VanSickle Landing development project along Buckley’s Ryan Road is coming into sharper focus, as the city will be taking written comments through Friday regarding the applicant’s preliminary plat application.
The developer plans to divide nearly 61 acres of property into 262 units for single-family and town home residential structures.
The project involves a five-block span on the north side of Ryan Road from roughly the 1300 to the 1800 blocks.
City Administrator David Schmidt said a public hearing on the project has been tentatively set for the middle of April.
Investco Financial Corporation, through its subsidiary Elkhorn LLC, is seeking approval of the preliminary plat so it can, in Schmidt’s words, “get started building their own little city within a city out there.
“They will be putting in utilities, sewer drains, paved streets, curbs, sidewalks, street lights, etc. as soon as they get authorization to do so,” Schmidt said.
Written comments concerning the preliminary plat should be delivered to Buckley City Hall, 933 Main St., no later than 5 p.m. Friday.
