On Thursday Sumner is holding the Community Summit featuring discussions on various community-related issues, awards for people making an impact and a keynote address.
Marilee Hill-Anderson, STARR Project Director at the Sumner School District, said the event, now in its 17th year, is a chance for the community to join and discuss the future.
“This is a unique opportunity for community leaders to come together,” she said.
The theme of this year’s summit is hope and confidence in future and Hill-Anderson said the summit is meant to bring a positive look toward the future through discussions.
“We have the opportunity to have inspiring dialogue,” she said.
Two sessions address the state of the economy and will focus on how to find help getting a job, and where to find and how to provide relief services.
Hill-Anderson said preregistration is recommended for the summit calling the office at onilne. Registration is on a space-available basis.
