The Sumner/Bonney Lake Area Communities for Families Coalition will host the 16th annual Community Summit, “Linking Strengths, Keeping Promises,” March 26 at the Calvary Community Church in Sumner.
The summit is 5-8 p.m. with keynote speaker Adam Fletcher.
Fletcher is a nationally recognized expert of youth engagement. He believes the public can help shape a positive future for youth and adults alike.
The pre-summit session 3-5 p.m. with Rob Mayer.
Mayer is a motivational speaker and local youth pastor that inspires the public to take action on issues youth indicated are a priority.
The will also be breakout sessions, a dinner, and Community Impact Awards presented.
Breakout sessions will focus on safe places after school, tackling substance abuse, city services on tight budgets, safe travel in Bonney Lake, funding for schools and giving back to the community.
The event is for residents, local business owners, youth representing schools and leaders from church, civic and community organizations to examine topic of the health of the Bonney Lake-Sumner community.
Supporters for the event are the Sumner School District, STARR Project, Title IV Safe and Drug Free Schools and Community Act Grant, City of Bonney Lake, City of Sumner, Calvary Community Church, Lake Tapps Community Church, and other community agencies and volunteers.
There is no charge for the event.
