LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 11:32 p.m. April 5, an 18-year-old girl from Enumclaw was stopped for speeding on state Route 410 near the upper cemetery road and found to be driving with a suspended license. She was arrested, issued a notice of infraction and released.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: At 6 a.m. April 2, a Main Street resident reported a vandal had spray painted an obscenity on a car.
COUGAR SIGHTING: At 6:46 p.m. April 8, a large cougar was seen in the area of the Rainier State School twice by an employee. The area was checked with no success.
DUI: At 11:45 p.m. April 8, an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and tailgating another vehicle on SR 410 near the upper cemetery. A strong odor of intoxicants were smelled at the driver’s window. The driver stated he was OK to drive but elected to perform sobriety field tests. He failed the tests and was placed under arrest for DUI.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: After 3 a.m. April 11, officers were dispatched to Rainier School for a reported suspicious male who had just left the premises in a car. Officers were asked to advise the man not to return to the campus. The 35-year-old man from Spanaway was pulled over a short distance from the school and advised not to return. A 29-year-old female employee of Rainier told the officers that the man was her ex-boyfriend who was probably following her, and that she was in the process of obtaining a no-contact order.
