King County Executive Dow Constantine and Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammeier plan to lead the Foothills Trail Bridge groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow, Jan. 18.
The ceremony is at 3 p.m., and will be held on the Buckley side of the river (646 N River Ave. ).
The structure will finally connect Enumclaw and Buckley via a pedestrian steel bridge, which will also complete the 22-mile Foothills Trail from Enumclaw to Puyallup, when it’s completed spring or summer 2024.
While most people will use the bridge to walk or bike over the river, it can also be used by emergency responders to get around congested traffic over the White River vehicle bridge.
