One of the most popular traditions for Plateau bargain hunters returns this weekend.

The 2013 Tapps Island Garage Sale opens 9 a.m. Saturday, June 1. The sale will run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The neighborhood gate will charge $5 per car on Saturday until 3 p.m., applicable to any vehicle entering the island without a current Tapps Island sticker or guest pass. The pass will not be needed Sunday. Visitors are advised to park only in designated areas at risk of being towed, according to this form on the Tapps Island Association website.

The forecast for Friday remains mostly sunny, but a quick peek outside as of this writing continues to show heavy cloud cover. The weather forecast for this weekend is mostly cloudy on Saturday, with a high of 68 degrees, and partly sunny on Sunday with a high of 67 degrees.
