ONE IN CUSTODY: Buckley police reported Jan. 1 they had a woman in custody who was wanted on an Enumclaw Municipal Court arrest warrant. An officer made the short trip to Buckley, took custody of the woman and delivered her to the Enumclaw station for booking.
HOLIDAY FIREWORKS: Police were alerted to fireworks being discharged at 12:25 a.m. Jan. 1. They responded to a Roosevelt Avenue address and made contact with an individual who agreed to call a halt to the fireworks display.
HELP REQUESTED: A city resident told police Jan. 1 he received a call from what sounded like an elderly woman who said she needed help. No information, other than a name, could be received. Police determined the phone number belonged to an address in Covington, so King County authorities were notified.
TWO CHARGES: A woman told police Jan. 1 a man had attempted to get into her vehicle. As officers were responding, the man departed the Griffin Avenue scene in a black Jeep. After the vehicle was stopped, the man was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to yield. He posted bond and was released; his vehicle was impounded.
UNWANTED PERSON: A Warner Avenue resident old police Jan. 1 a man had been ringing her doorbell for nearly 10 minutes before departing. Officers located the man and determined he and the woman knew one another. He was ordered not to return to her home.
