Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced two local politicians to be on his Washington State Leadership Team for his presidential campaign.
According to an Oct. 3 press release, King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, who represents the county’s District 9, which includes Black Diamond and Enumclaw, and Sen. Phil Fortunato of the state’s 31st Legislative District, representing the Plateau as a whole, are a part of the 13-person team.
“I’m supporting the only candidate in this race who is focused on the future. We can’t afford to relitigate 2020,” Dunn said in the press release. “Ron DeSantis has led the charge on all these issues that matter to Americans. I’ve seen what he’s done in Florida, and now I’m ready to see what he can do for the country as President.”
“I’m proud to endorse Ron DeSantis for President. I see him as someone that will protect the Supreme Court, address the immigration crisis, and bring some sanity to education to protect our children and empower parents,” Fortunato said. “There’s nothing more important than defeating Joe Biden in 2024, and Ron DeSantis is the only candidate I believe will get the job done.”
