Pierce County has released the first wave of results in the general election. The initial figures only include ballots that have already been counted. Updates will be posted each day as more votes are tallied. The election will be certified on Nov. 29.

Initial results on contested races in Bonney Lake, Sumner, and for the East Pierce Fire Commission are as follows:

Bonney Lake Council Position 7: Katrina Minton-Davis is ahead with 71.03 percent of the vote, over Quinn Dahlstrom. 2,213 votes have been counted.

Sumner Council Position 4: Nancy Dumas is ahead with 55.77 percent votes, over Jon Swanson. 1,560 votes have been counted.

Sumner Council Position 6: Curt Brown is ahead with 63.3 percent of the vote, over Melony Kirkish. 1,534 votes have been counted.

Sumner Council Position 7: Mike LeMaster is ahead with 72.3 percent of the vote, over Joe Gerace. 1,502 votes have been counted.

Sumner School District Director Dist. 2: Paul Bucich is ahead with 51.81 percent of the vote, over Jeff DeMarre. 5,842 votes have been counted.

Sumner School District Director Dist. 4: Casey Chamberlain is ahead with 58.37 percent of the vote. 5,868 votes have been counted.

East Pierce Fire Commissioner, District 22 Position 4: Edward Egan is ahead with 50.04 percent of the vote. 11,354 votes have been counted.
