There were two community gatherings in Enumclaw Friday, May 29, in support of Beau Ward, the 10-year-old boy who was burned May 22 following an explosion that occurred when the boy and his 9-year-old friend tried to light an outdoor fire with gasoline.
The first gathering was 2:30 p.m. at Martin Johnson Park and the other at Pete’s Pool at 4 p.m.
Beau was burned on about 65 percent of his body and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.
The other boy was transported by Medic One. He was released the following day.
Beau has had multiple surgeries since the incident. Fundraising efforts are in process and will be reported when the information is available.
