A woman suspected of a fatal hit and run outside Enumclaw had separate but related charges dismissed court last week.
Puyallup resident Kimberly Meinin was arranged in the city on April 4 on charges of DUI and reckless endangerment.
However, the city prosecutor moved to have those charges dismissed without prejudice, a request the judge granted.
“It sounds like King County is going to be taking this case as well as another matter that they’re currently investigating,” Prosecutor Krista Swain said.
It’s likely, though not confirmed, that the King County investigation is around a fatal hit and run that occurred in the early morning hours of April 1.
According to a WSP report, Buckley resident Clifford Camanoprice, 22, was walking westbound in the highway between 212th Avenue and 244th Avenue on SR 164 when a black SUV, traveling eastbound, hit him between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. and did not stop.
No charges have been filed in this incident as of April 9.
Around the same time as the hit and run, Meinin allegedly hit a parked vehicle inside city limits, which was when she was arrested by Enumclaw police.
It’s unclear at this time why the Washington State Patrol named Meinin as a suspect through a memo release, though damage at the scene of the hit and run indicated the suspect car would have had damage to the front driver’s headlight and would be missing part of the front driver’s bumper, the driver’s side mirror, and driver’s side door handle.
APRIL 8 COLLISION
Last Friday at around 1:30 a.m., a driver heading west on SR 164 allegedly veered into the eastbound lane and struck another vehicle.
The driver of both cars, and the two passengers in the second, were all sent to a hospital.
The victims in the second car were from British Columbia. Charges against the driver of the first vehicle, allegedly from Auburn, have not yet been filed as of April 7; it is suspected that drugs or alcohol were involved.
