Enumclaw farmer’s market starts out fresh

There are more than 70 vendors signed up this year.

The Enumclaw Farmer’s Market continues to grow.

The seventh annual market, which started earlier this month and will continue on Thursdays through September, appears positioned to have another year of record-breaking vendor numbers, visitors, and sales.

According to the market, close to 70 vendors have already applied to sell their wares on First Street behind the Enumclaw library.

This is up from the 59 that registered last year.

Many vendors will be familiar to regular market shoppers.

Returning farms include Hell or High Water Farm, Ode to Joy Farm, The Mason Jar Farm, Hayton Farms Berries, and Found Again Fungi with their fresh greens, berries, and ‘shrooms. New this year is 13 Hens Farm out of Maple Valley and Grace Valley Farms.

And the market’s list of value-added or prepared food vendors continues to get longer as well.

New this year will be the Dawg Eat Dogs hot dog cart, Batch 3 Ice Cream, Autumn’s Ice Cream, Old Guys Candy, Brambleberry Farms baked goods, and Grain and Flower with its sourdough loafs.

Artisan and crafters setting up shop will include jewelers like Bangles by Grace; body care product creators like Sacred Oak Apothecary, Wicked Mama’s Soaps and Sundries, Rainier Remedies, Wicks & Woodbine, and The Dandelion Tree; stone, pottery, and leather workers like devilmade13, PotteryWA, and P-U-M Enterprises; Yorkpatty and their handmade baby clothes; and many more.

POP CLUB FOR KIDS – AND SENIORS

Returning this year is the Kids’ Power of Produce program — and new is a similar program for local seniors.

The Kids’ PoP Club allows children ages 2 through 18 to receive two $2 tokens from the market to spend on fresh fruits or vegetables every time they visit the market.

And the PoPS program (Power of Produce Seniors) will provide shoppers 65 years old and older up to $10 per week in market-specific currency.

You can sign up at enumclawplateaufarmersmarket.org or at the market.
