Enumclaw Fire Department responds to two accidents Tuesday morning

Four transported to hospitals in first incident, driver hits school bus in second.

At 8:18 AM this morning, King County Fire District was toned out to a two-car motor vehicle accident on state Route 169 just north of 416th Avenue. When crews arrived, they found two vehicles that were in a head-on collision.

There were a total of four patients; two in each vehicle. Three patients were transported to Harborview; two of whom were air lifted due to the severity of the injuries. The fourth patient was patient was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw.

The highway was shut down for over an hour while a crew of 16 firefighters from King County Fire District #28 were assisted by crews from Medic 1, AMR, King County Sheriffs Dept., Washington State Patrol, and Enumclaw Police.

Members of the Sheriff’s Dept. and WSP continued to investigate the incident after emergency responders left the scene.

This accident immediately followed another motor vehicle accident on 244th Ave SE and SE 424th St. A car traveling west bound on SE 424th St struck a school bus. The driver of the car refused transport.
