Seniors:

This year in order to recognize all students who have distinguished themselves academically, we have decided to make a change to the Honor cord requirements.  Beginning with this year’s graduating class, all seniors who wish to buy and wear an Honor cord at graduation must be a member of the National Honor Society.  Many students are already members of NHS, for those that are not, it is not too late to join.  The requirements for NHS membership are:

§  a 3.3 GPA

§  no serious disciplinary history (‘serious’ being an indecent that has resulted in a suspension, in-school or out of school).

§  recommendation by 4 faculty members

§  attendance at the Spring Induction ceremony

§  $10 dues (this pays for the student’s national registration)

The Spring Induction ceremony will be held in late March.  Applications, with deadlines, will be made available in early March through the advisors, Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Sandfer.

Attention Junior Boys and Girls – Are you on track to graduate next year and thinking of a career in Cosmetology?  If you are – swing by the main office to discuss with Diane Schneider about how you can attend Cascade Beauty College, Tuesday through Saturdays, after attending morning classes @ EHS next year. Applications to the college must be submitted on or before May 15th and there are activities that must be completed before then,  so don’t procrastinate. The program is 1800 hours, beginning July 2, 2013 and continues through August 31, 2014. It’s a commitment that will quickly put you on the road to your career upon graduation from both EHS and the beauty college.

The National Art Honor Society is now accepting new members for second semester.  Please pick up a membership application from Ms. Weber in room 1031.
