Today’s New Information:
As requested by Mr. Scott we will not have announcements today only the Pledge due to the District Choir Festival in our auditorium all day today.
The STATE Solo and Ensemble Contest took place during spring break at Central Washington University. Students from Enumclaw who went to state had to win the regional competition against students from all over Auburn, Kent, White River and surrounding areas. The following are the results from the instrumental competition.
Thomas Horn scored straight superiors for his performance on solo snare drum.
Ben Hanks also achieved a superior rating for his solo on French horn.
The Brass Quintet made up of Shelby Champ on trombone, Ben Hanks on French horn, Christian Holtz on trumpet, Riley Nielsen on trumpet and Jon Taylor on String Bass not only made straight superiors at state they were invited to play at the TEN GRANDS CONCERT on May 11th to play at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. This is a rare opportunity and to be selected for this is truly a credit to their superb performance at state. They were hand picked from the finest musicians in the state.
Also participating in the state competition were members of our string quintet. Keelan Wells on cello, Anna Harris on Violin, Michael Ballard on violin, Gabby Unguez on Viola and Jon Taylor on String Bass.
Please join me in congratulating them for their fine performance and for being amongst those students who consistently demonstrate excellence at events across the state. WE ARE ENUMCLAW. GO HORNETS.
