Information in Review:

Attention Freshmen: Go to the gym on Thursday during core.  You will be meeting and having fun with your Link Leaders!

 

Important message from our Library, there are currently over 400 students who have one or more overdue books. Please return or renew your books.

 

The P.E. “Hey Hornets” – After school math tutoring is running again.  So, whether you really struggle in math or just need help with a few questions, stop by and see us.  Tutoring is currently available on Tuesdays in Portable 10 and Thursdays in Room 211.  Tutoring begins at 2:40 and is available until 3:30.

 

High School basketball open gyms are Mondays, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Open to all Enumclaw High School students. Any students currently in a fall sport are highly encouraged to get written permission from their coach to participate.

 

Start thinking about winter sports!  Have you had your physical?  Packets are available outside the Athletic Office.  Sports available are boys & girls basketball, gymnastics, boys swim and boys & girls wrestling.

 

SENIORS:  If you missed getting your graduation information from Jostens it is available outside the Activities Office or in the Main Office.

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team for a HUGE win over the Auburn Mountainview Lions.  The lady Hornets won in 3 games. WAY TO GO!

 

Congratulations to the Girls & Boys golf teams who won the SPSL League Championships.  The Varsity and JV boys finished the season 18-2 and the girls finished with a “perfect” 20 – 0 record.  This is the 22nd league title in school history for the boys and the 15th league title for the girls.  For the Lady Hornets this is their 10th league title in the last 11 years.  Certainly a demonstration of Hornet Pride – Purpose – and Performance on Display!  Great job golfers!

 

Counseling News:

 

The October Scholarship and College Information Lists are now available.  Pick up your copy at the career or Counseling Center or go to the career center swift website to print a copy.

 

WSU Regents Scholarship: If you are a senior with a minimum GPA of 3.8 and you are interested in attending WSU stop by the counseling center to sign up for the Regents scholarship. The deadline to sign up is Monday, October 22nd.

 

The ASVAB will be given on Tuesday, October 30th in the career center from 8:00 am – 11:00 am.  This is a free career exploration opportunity for all 10th – 12th graders.  This test combines your skills and interests and explores possible career choices for after high school.  Sign up in the counseling center if interested.

 

If you are Junior with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and you are interested in science, engineering or math then come to the Career Center on Tuesday, October 16th.  One of Enumclaw’s own, John Corley, will be answering questions and sharing information about  the  Washington Aerospace Scholars Program.  Applications for the program are now available at www.museumofflight.org/was, deadline to apply is November 9th.

 

CLUBS:

Native American /Alaskan Native Club meets monthly with no fees to participate. The group will learn leadership skills and participate in cultural events. If you have questions please see Cathy in the Counseling Center.

 

Join the Weight Club for fall season.  We meet at 2:30-4:00PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Pay $10 at the cashier’ office with your Weight Club form and your good to go.  See Mr. Gutierrez in room 209 if any questions.

COMMUNITY Happenings:

 

The Enumclaw Clothing Bank:   We are open every Tuesday from 10am-6pm. (closed on school closures and holidays)  We are located at the JJ Smith building on Fell St. in the old library.

 

Neighbors Feeding Neighbors – Thursday, October 18 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Enumclaw Library.  This is a Town Hall meeting seeking volunteers for a couple of programs being stated in our community to address hunger.

 

The Money Maze:  Finding Money for College, Thursday, October 18 at 6:00PM, held at GRCC – Enumclaw Campus, room 16.  This workshop will give the ins and outs of college finances.

 

Pasta with a Purpose- Saturday, October 27 at the EHS Commons.  This is the annual fundraiser dinner auction for Plateau Outreach Ministries.  Ticket information will be available soon!
