PROWL INTERRUPTED: A James Street resident called police just before 1 a.m. March 25, reporting that a vehicle prowl had been interrupted. Three suspects were attempting to open car doors when they were discovered. The caller’s boyfriend chased after the three, who headed toward Division Street. Extra patrol was requested, as the trio had been seen in the area the previous night.
THEFT: Police responded at 3:04 a.m. March 24 to a Semanski Street address, prompted by an audible commercial burglar alarm. One person was taken into custody for third-degree theft and criminal trespass.
PATROL REQUESTED: A resident of a Watson Street apartment complex requested extra police patrol March 24 due to several instances of vandalism and suspicious vehicles in the area. The caller said the suspicious activity occurs between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. and had not been reported.
VEHICLE PROWL: Police heard from a Battersby Avenue resident March 24 who reported approximately $600 worth of compact discs had been stolen from a car. Additionally, the CD player was damaged but not stolen.
NEIGHBORHOOD SPAT: Police responded March 24 to a Spruce Drive address after learning of a dispute stemming from one vehicle speeding through the area and one person hitting another person’s vehicle with his fist. An officer talked to all involved and told them to leave one another alone. The neighbors complied.
SAFE TAKEN: Police were told March 24 that a safe had been taken from a Lincoln Avenue residence. The victim identified an ex-boyfriend as a suspect, adding he had been asked to leave due to substance abuse issues. The suspect was contacted at a hotel and the safe, along with its contents, were found in his room. The property was returned to the victim.
THEFT: A citizen arrived at the police station lobby March 23, complaining that an iPod had been stolen about a week earlier. The victim was certain who took the device and had attempted to get it back without success. The alleged suspect could not be found.
CIVIL DISPUTE: A Charwila Lane resident notified police March 23, stating she could not get a neighbor to return her laptop computer. After an officer contacted all involved, the item was returned.
MINOR IN POSSESSION: After police responded shortly before midnight March 23 to a Cole Street address they booked a subject for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
INTOXICATED DRIVERS: Police were alerted at 4:43 p.m. March 22 of a possibly-intoxicated driver heading into the city limits on state Route 164. The vehicle was stopped in the 1200 block of Semanski Street and the driver was arrested for being under the influence. The vehicle was impounded.
A traffic stop at 2:08 a.m. March 22 on Stevenson Avenue resulted in the driver being taken into custody and booked for driving under the influence. The vehicle was impounded.
MINORS IN POSSESSION: A traffic stop at 11:53 p.m. March 22 at the intersection of Griffin Avenue and Cole Street resulted in two people taken into custody and booked into jail for being minors in possession of alcohol. The driver and an additional passenger were released at the scene.
BURGLARY TOOLS: A traffic stop at 12:24 a.m. March 21 at Roosevelt Avenue and state Route 410 resulted in one person taken into custody and booked for possession of burglary tools.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Police received a call at 1:15 a.m. March 21 from the King County Sheriff’s Office. The officer had been called and the line then disconnected; the suspect call originated from a Farrelly Street address. Police responded to the address and took one person into custody for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.
POSTER COMPLAINT: Police received a call the morning of March 21 regarding “derogatory posters” placed on city property throughout town. An officer was taking down signs as soon as they were discovered.
CIVIL MATTER: A man contacted police at 2:17 a.m. March 20, complaining that his estranged wife took his pickup and notified him by text message. The man was told it is a civil matter, not criminal, and he needed to contact an attorney regarding possession of the vehicle.
BEER THEFT: Police were called at 2:38 a.m. March 20 by an employee of a Monroe Avenue business who saw a man attempt to steal beer by putting it in a backpack. The suspect was taken into custody on the theft charge and police also added a charge for possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was officially ordered to stay away from the business.
ASSAULT: Officers responded at 3:23 p.m. to a Warner Avenue address after hearing of a domestic situation. One subject was arrested and booked for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: A Monroe Avenue resident reported a vehicle had been “keyed” the previous night. The incident was reported at 7:17 a.m. March 19.
THREATS MADE: A woman told police the morning of March 19 she had been threatened by her estranged husband. Information was taken and the victim was obtaining a court order.
PATIENT TROUBLE: Police responded to Enumclaw Regional Hospital at 7:53 p.m. March 19 after being told of an out-of-control patient.
WARRANT ARREST: A suspect was arrested at 9:14 p.m. March 19 on a King County warrant initially stemming from a narcotics violation.
TOO LOUD: Police received two calls between 11 p.m. and midnight March 19 concerning a group of juveniles making too much noise in the Bathke Avenue vicinity. They were asked to quiet down on the first contact; the group was breaking up when an officer responded the second time.
