DOG FOUND: A citizen took possession of a German shepherd at approximately 1:47 a.m. Aug. 15 and delivered the animal to the police station. It had been hanging around Griffin Avenue for several hours. The dog, without a collar or identification, was provided lodging for the night. King County Animal Control arrived later in the morning and took the animal.

SUSPICIOUS: A McHugh Avenue resident called police shortly before 4:30 a.m. Aug. 15, reporting a man had knocked on the caller’s door, stating he was out of gas and needed to get to the hospital. The man walked away, leaving a vehicle in front of the caller’s house. The caller notified police again at 5:05 a.m., stating the suspect was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Police responded and found both the man and a woman. The woman was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for possession of stolen property. She had a second arrest warrant, issued by Auburn police, for possession of burglary tools.

TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 15 resulted in the driver being arrested and booked for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. His vehicle was impounded from the vicinity of Griffin Avenue and Montgomery Avenue.

SEARCH WARRANT: A city officer assisted Black Diamond police Aug. 14 with a search warrant issued for a vehicle. A person associated with the vehicle was taken into custody at the Enumclaw police station and booked for reckless endangerment. A firearm was recovered during the investigation.

ARREST WARRANTS: An officer spotted a vehicle broken down on state Route 410 at Warner Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Aug. 14. The male driver was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license. It was discovered he also was the subject of arrest warrants issued by Selah and Yakima.

NOISE COMPLAINT: A Semanski Street party, with about 20 people standing outside making noise, led to a police response at 12:14 a.m. Aug. 13. The resident was contacted and warned about excessive noise.

CAR VS. COW: No Washington State Patrol troopers were available at 1 a.m. Aug. 13, so city police responded to a state Route 164 location where a vehicle collided with a cow. The vehicle was damaged and was towed; two people suffered minor injuries but were not transported to the hospital.

THREATS MADE: A city resident called police at 2:53 a.m. Aug. 13, saying her ex-boyfriend had sent threatening text messages and stated he would be coming to her home. Officers checked the area between Enumclaw and the suspect’s Cumberland home and did not locate the man. The victim was told to alert police if he arrived.

TOO ENTHUSIASTIC: Police were called the afternoon of Aug. 13 by someone complaining about girls promoting a car wash who were jumping into the roadway to flag down prospective customers. An officer advised they should stay out of the street.

TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop at 1:40 p.m. Aug. 13 resulted in a man being taken into custody for driving under the influence and reckless endangerment. His vehicle was impounded.

UNDERAGE DRINKING: A loud party on Southeast 456th Street had police responding at 10:50 p.m. Aug. 13. The large gathering had numerous minors drinking alcohol, so police told organizers to halt the party. Everyone was warned to depart immediately.

THEFT FROM HOME: A Natalie Place resident told police he had arrived home the morning of Aug. 12 and discovered someone had entered his house. Taken were a pistol and a shotgun.

KNIFE ASSAULT: An officer responded to the St. Elizabeth Hospital emergency room the evening of Aug. 12 to contact the victim of a knife assault. Approximately two hours later, the suspect arrived at the police station and contacted the officer.

INTOXICATED: Police responded at 11:52 p.m. Aug. 12 to the vicinity of Lafromboise Street and Griffin Avenue, the scene of a minor traffic accident. The driver was not hurt but was taken into custody by the Washington State Patrol for driving under the influence.
