TWO CITED: A traffic stop the morning of Dec. 27 on Roosevelt Avenue resulted in one juvenile cited for possession of marijuana and the driver cited for failure to transfer a vehicle title.
SCRAP THEFT: Police responded Dec. 27 to a report of items stolen from a Stevenson Avenue loading dock. It was determined the missing items were scrap and had little value. The owner did not want to file a report but asked for extra patrol in the area.
DRUG OFFENSE: A traffic stop at 1 a.m. Dec. 27 resulted in the driver being cited for possession of both marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
MISSING PERSON: Family members alerted police Dec. 26 after a woman departed a Fell Street home to walk a dog. She had been gone three hours, was not at her apartment and had not been seen by friends. Police later heard from a Clovercrest Street resident who reported a woman was sitting on the front porch and refusing to leave. It was determined it was the same woman and her family was contacted.
DISTURBANCE: Staff at a Jensen Street facility called police the night of Dec. 25 due to a disruptive visitor who acted inappropriately with staff and attempted to remove items from the building. The subject was taken into custody for interfering with a healthcare facility.
SHOTGUN SHOWN: Police were told the night of Dec. 24 of a man in a Merritt Avenue home brandishing a shotgun during an argument with his daughter. She ran from the residence and called her stepfather, who picked her up. The stepfather remained in the home and refused efforts by police who attempted to contact him. Officers eventually departed, with plans to follow up later. It was noted the man is the subject of a no-contact order issued through Buckley police and is not to be in possession of a weapon.
TIRES SLASHED: Damage was done Dec. 24 to a Lakewood Police Department patrol car while it was parked at a Charwila Lane address. Two tires were slashed, resulting in damage estimated at $500. Also, police learned that two tires were slashed and sugar was poured into the gas tank of a vehicle parked on Harmony Lane. In a third incident occurring the same night, two tires were slashed on a second vehicle parked on Charwila Lane.
DUI: Police were alerted just before midnight Dec. 23 to a dispute between a man and woman in a Griffin Avenue parking lot. The man, who appeared intoxicated, was yelling at the woman. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence and his vehicle was impounded.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Police were told Dec. 23 an unknown subject on foot ran up and over a vehicle, denting the hood and causing an estimated $700 worth of damage.
NO PROBLEM: Police received a call the morning of Dec. 22 regarding a man picketing in front of a business. It was determined the man was acting legally.
VOLUNTARY TRANSPORT: Police were alerted Dec. 22 to a suicidal female who wanted to be taken to the hospital. Arrangements were made and she was taken by ambulance.
STILL MISSING: An officer initiated a traffic stop shortly after 1 a.m. Dec. 22 but the driver failed to yield. The driver then ditched his vehicle and ran from the scene. Three passengers were briefly detained, then released. The driver could not be found. His vehicle was impounded.
