Enumclaw police reports Feb. 2-6

SUSPICIOUS: A city officer made contact the morning of Feb. 6 with a man who claimed to have been involved in using explosives with other individuals. Because the alleged incident occurred outside the city limits, the officer contacted the King County Sheriff’s Office.

ROAD RAGE: Police were told Feb. 6 by the Washington State Patrol of a possible road rage incident involving vehicles heading into Enumclaw. A driver reported being aggressively followed by someone in a silver Kia after she tried to merge onto state Route 410 from a side street. The reporting party was able to provide police with a license plate number.

AGENCY ASSIST: Police were called upon the afternoon of Feb. 6 to help with traffic control, stemming from a brush fire in the vicinity of Chinook Avenue west of Cole Street.

DON’T DRIVE: At 3:37 a.m. Feb. 5, a man was laying on the ground near a play area on Watson Street. His vehicle was parked nearby with the door open and lights on. Upon police contact, it was found the man had no medical problem but had been drinking. He was advised not to drive.

CHILD HURT: Police assisted Child Protective Services Feb. 5 with the emergency removal of a child from parents at St. Elizabeth Hospital. The child was turned over to CPS in order to receive medical attention.

ATTEMPTED PROWL: A caller told police at 5:09 a.m. Feb. 4 she heard male voices near her detached garage and saw her vehicle shaking as though someone was attempting to break in. Officers from Enumclaw and Buckley responded and, during a search of the area, found nothing. There was no damage done and nothing was missing.

FRAUD: Police heard from a fraud victim Feb. 4. A woman arrived at the police station claiming three transactions had been made with her debit card; they totaled $332 and were made out of the country. There were no suspects.

BURGLARY: A Battersby Avenue resident told police Feb. 4 someone had entered an apartment the previous night and took three rings, a St. Christopher medal and three garnets. There was no sign of forced entry and there were no suspects.

ASSAULT: Police were told at 8 a.m. Feb. 3 of an assault that had just occurred in a Semanski Street parking lot. A suspect was taken into custody, charged with fourth-degree assault and harassment, and released.

FAMILY TROUBLE: A Feb. 3 report indicated a girl had been assaulted by her aunt the evening prior. Child Protective Services had been notified and police were to follow up with that agency. Investigation revealed no injuries.

CIVIL DISPUTE: Police responded Feb. 3 to an incident that was first reported to be a burglary and was then determined to be a civil dispute between a man and his estranged wife.

ILLEGAL BURN: A patrolling officer spotted thick smoke Feb. 2 stemming from an illegal fire. The officer found the location, in the vicinity of 244th Avenue Southeast and state Route 164, and instructed the people involved to extinguish the fire.
