NOT MISSING: Police were called Jan. 31 to join the search for a 5-year-old girl missing from a Warwick Street address. Just as officers arrived, the girl was found hiding behind a television.
SHOTS REPORTED: Police took an anonymous call at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 31 from someone reporting what sounded like gunshots in the vicinity of Battersby Avenue and Cole Street. An officer responded and did not find, or hear, anything out of the ordinary.
LET’S ROCK: A citizen called police at 2:05 a.m. Jan. 30, reporting a large rock in the middle of the road in the vicinity of state Route 410 and Mud Mountain Road. An officer responded to determine if the Washington State Patrol needed to be called. The officer was able to move the rock from the roadway.
ATTEMPT TO LOCATE: City police were asked to be on the lookout Jan. 30 for a black Honda Civic with gold rims and three people on board. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen, had been seen on Green Valley Road. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
THEFT ADMITTED: A man arrived at the police station the afternoon of Jan. 29, admitting he had stolen both tools and copper from a family member’s garage. The victim declined to press charges.
DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Officers responded Jan. 29 to a residence on 290th Avenue Southeast after a 911 call was received and dispatchers could hear a woman screaming and crying, along with a man’s voice. The situation was turned over to King County authorities, since the residence was outside the city limits.
ASSAULT: Police were told at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 an assault had just occurred at a Griffin Avenue address. A man allegedly struck another man in the face with a belt, causing lacerations. A suspect was taken in custody and the victim was treated by medics. Upon further investigation, an officer determined both parties would be charged with fourth-degree assault.
HIT AND RUN: A hit-and-run reportedly occurred at 7:20 p.m. Jan. 28 in a Griffin Avenue parking lot. The suspect vehicle, a white truck with five males on board, allegedly was backed into a Mustang before departing. It was determined to be a work truck and the business owner assured the damage to the Mustang would be taken care of.
SUSPICIOUS: Police hunted for a man who ran through a Chinook Avenue parking lot yelling obscenities and racial slurs. It was unknown if he had been in some type of altercation and police failed to locate him. The incident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28.
TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop at 12:41 a.m. Jan. 27 resulted in a motorist arrested and booked for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded.
FAMILY TROUBLE: A female arrived in the police station lobby Jan. 27, relating issues with her parents not allowing her to pick up some of her belongings. An officer advised her it was a civil issue, not for police.
MISCHIEF: An officer was told Jan. 27 of a window broken at a vacant business. The broken window was confirmed but there was no entry into the building, despite an open door. The owner of the building was contacted and agreed to get the broken glass cleaned up.
