LAWN DISPUTE: Police were called Thursday to a Semanski Street address to settle a dispute that was deemed a civil matter. The reporting party had paid someone $150 to mow her lawn and was not satisfied with the work, prompting the dispute. The employer said she has been receiving harassing phone calls from the employee. An officer made contact with the suspect and advised that the calls should stop.

THREATS MADE: Police responded Thursday to an ongoing problem between neighbors on Edel Avenue. One neighbor was said to be constantly using loud machinery; a second neighbor complained, spurring threats from the first neighbor. Police contacted both parties in an attempt to mediate the situation.

ARREST WARRANT: Police took a report June 29 of a man pacing on the roadway in the vicinity of Farrelly Street and Christiansen Avenue. The man was located near Wynalda Drive and taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the city of Renton. He had failed to appear in court on an original charge of third-degree theft. Local police delivered the suspect to Renton authorities, meeting north of Black Diamond.

ON THE ROOF: Police were told June 28 of malicious mischief done to Southwood Elementary School, including a bicycle found on the roof.

ASSAULT ASSIST: An officer responded June 27 to a Roosevelt Avenue address after learning of an assault. It was determined the incident occured in King County so the Sheriff’s Office was notified.

PARKING DISPUTE: Police were told June 27 a dispute over a parking space resulted in a female spitting on another person. The suspect drove off in a green Ford Explorer. The incident occurred on Roosevelt Avenue.

TEXT THREATS: Police were asked to intervene by a citizen who had been receiving threatening text messages from a known suspect. An officer made contact with the suspect and advised him to stop. The victim was advised to contact police again if the threats continued.

NO WHACKER: A Petersen Drive resident notified police June 27, reporting the theft of a gas-powered weed whacker. There were no suspects.

BB TROUBLE: A parent called police June 27 after a child was hit with a BB from an air-soft BB gun June 27. An officer spoke with both parties and it was agreed a parent would confiscate the BB gun.

SUSPICIOUS CALLER: Police were told June 26 a juvenile female had received a suspicious phone call from an unknown older male who provided a name. An officer arrived while the caller was still on the phone, but the man hung up when the officer attempted to speak to him. The reporting party agreed to block the incoming number and call police if the caller made contact again.
