MORE PROWLS: A Loraine Street resident reported a vehicle prowl shortly before 4 a.m. March 21. Golf clubs were taken. Later that morning, a Clovercrest Street resident told police $600 worth of stereo equipment had been taken from a vehicle during the night. The afternoon of March 21, a Harding Street resident told police of a vehicle prowl that resulted in no damage and nothing taken. Another prowl in which nothing was taken was reported by a Pioneer Street resident, but another Pioneer Street resident called in a theft from a vehicle.

SCAM ALERT: An out-of-state resident called Enumclaw police March 21, reporting a local address had been used in conjunction with a fraudulent check that had been sent as part of a possible scam. The caller’s teenage daughter had been targeted via the Internet.

DISTURBANCE: Police were alerted at 12:38 a.m. March 20 to a disturbance on the second floor of a Griffin Avenue hotel, where a tenant was refusing to have guests leave. Officers responded, all the guests departed and the issue was settled.

CYCLE HEIST: The theft of a motorcycle and multiple other items from a Chinook Avenue address was reported March 20.

DAMAGE DONE: A resident in the vicinity of Fell Street reported March 19 she had been told by a neighbor a garbage truck had struck her vehicle. An officer responded and confirmed the damage done.

NO EMERGENCY: After receiving a 911 call, officers responded March 19 to a Washington Avenue address. They found a baby playing with an old cell phone.

MOVE ALONG: A Pioneer Street resident called police March 18, reporting an intoxicated man on the ground in front of the home. Initially, the subject was not cooperative; he became more agreeable when given a ride home.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: A woman contacted police March 17, reporting she had been approached by a man requesting assistance. She declined, but the man was adamant that she help him, even after the woman pointed out another man that might offer some assistance. The suspect was in an older, black van; he was described as about 60 years old with a gray beard and blackened teeth. The victim was contacted; the suspect was not located.

ONE-CAR ACCIDENT: A citizen arrived in the police station lobby at 5:15 a.m. March 16, reporting a one-car accident in the Fairway Hills neighborhood above the golf course. An Enumclaw officer found the car, which had been driven into a guard rail. The driver stated he had failed to negotiate a curve while attempting to input an address into his GPS unit. King County authorities were advised of the damage done.

PATROL REQUESTED: A Natalie Place resident requested extra police patrol following an incident in which a vehicle had been ransacked during the night. Nothing was taken and no damage was done to the vehicle. The caller said it appeared the same thing had happened to other vehicles in the neighborhood.

NOT WITH CITY: A resident of Pinnacle Estates called police March 16, reporting an incident that occurred the previous week. Two men appeared in the caller’s back yard and, when questioned, indicated they were employees with the city of Enumclaw. It was later determined the men were not with the city. Officers were alerted to the situation.

THEFT FROM AUTO: A call was received March 16 from a Battersby Avenue address regarding a catalytic convertor stolen from a vehicle parked in an employee lot. There were no suspects or witnesses.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT: Police were asked March 16 to provide additional patrols in front of Enumclaw High School when school lets out for the day. It was noted student drivers had been speeding, running a stop sign and nearly hitting student pedestrians.

TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop the morning of March 16 resulted in both a driver and passenger being arrested on a drug charge and for possession of stolen property.

MULTIPLE VEHICLES PROWLED: Police were told March 16 two vehicles had been prowled on Roosevelt Avenue. A purse was stolen from one; nothing was taken from the other. A report was taken. A separate report was taken of two vehicles being entered on Semanski Street. It that incident, some items of little value were taken. In a third incident, an officer was flagged down and advised of a theft from a vehicle on Garfield Street.

WEAPON SHOWN: City officers assisted Washington State Patrol troopers March 16 in attempting to locate a vehicle in which someone had displayed a firearm and subjects in another vehicle. Contact was made and suspects were arrested by WSP troopers.
