ASSAULT: Police were told at 2:30 a.m. April 3 of an assault that had just occurred. An officer contacted all parties and a suspect was taken into custody for both assault and malicious mischief.
PAY UP: Someone from a Stevenson Avenue business called police April 3, reporting a customer did not pay for the service received. Contact was made and the individual decided to pay the bill.
DAMAGE AND DUI: Police responded at 11:10 p.m. April 3 to a one-car accident on Roosevelt Avenue that resulted in vehicle damage. The driver was booked for driving under the influence and the vehicle was impounded.
SUSPICIOUS: Police took a report April 2 of two teenage males walking in the vicinity of Bongard Avenue and Bruhn Lane, carrying what appeared to be some type of handgun. Officers located the suspects and confiscated several items before turning the teens over to their parents.
PARAPHERNALIA: A Harding Street resident reported finding drug paraphernalia in her backyard April 2 and asked to speak with an officer regarding a possible suspect. The items were taken to the police station for destruction.
JUVENILES: Officers responded the afternoon of April 2 to a report of juveniles fighting near the intersection of Cole Street and Chinook Avenue. The issue was settled upon police contact.
CONCERNED CALLERS: Two citizens called police April 2, concerned about a young woman who appeared disoriented, possibly under the influence of narcotics. She was on foot, walking along Cole Street, then Porter Street.
LOUD CRASH: A Harmony Lane resident reported hearing a loud crash at 12:28 a.m. April 1 and observed a dark vehicle with front-end damage leaving the area. It appeared to be a hit-and-run incident, but police could not immediately identify any victims. Later that morning, a neighbor reported a tree in his yard had been hit by a car. The tree was not damaged, but car parts were left behind. The parts were delivered to the police station.
ARREST WARRANTS: An April 1 traffic stop turned up a passenger who was wanted on arrest warrants issued by both Buckley and Orting. A Buckley corrections officer responded to take custody of the subject.
HELP WITH ACCIDENTS: City police were called upon at 8:30 a.m. March 31 to assist the Washington State Patrol with a motor vehicle accident involving injuries. The crash occurred on state Route 164 at 244th Avenue Southeast. Police had been called at 11:50 a.m. March 30 to provide traffic assistance at the scene of an automobile accident at SR 164 and 208th Avenue Southeast.
ROCK, ROLL: The Washington State Patrol notified Enumclaw police the afternoon of March 31, asking that someone respond to a report of a boulder possibly posing a traffic hazard on SR 410 at milepost 29. An officer pushed the boulder off the road and into a ditch so it no longer created traffic problems.
NEEDLE FOUND: A citizen arrived in the police station lobby shortly before noon March 30, turning over a hypodermic needle that was found in a downtown parking lot. The needle was secured and headed for destruction.
