The Enumclaw Pro Rodeo is drawing near, promising a full slate of roping, riding, bulls and broncs.

The Enumclaw Expo Center arena will be home to three days of action. Events will kick off at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 and 23 and there will be two shows – 1 and 7 p.m. – on Aug. 24. Ticket prices for each of the four performances are $15, which includes parking; children 5 and younger will be admitted free.

Tickets can be purchased in advanced at Johnson Exterior’s, 1724 Garrett St. in Enumclaw; Reber Ranch, 28606 132nd Ave. S.E. in Kent; Mike’s Western Supply, 22929 S.E. 436th St. in Enumclaw; or on line at www.enumclawprorodeo.com. Tickets also can be purchased at the gate but organizers are expecting to sell out all performances so they encourage advance purchases. Gates open one hour before each performance.

Those attending will be treated to traditional rodeo fare. On tap will be roughstock events like bareback riding, bull riding and saddle bronc riding; and timed events like barrel racing, breakaway roping, steer wrestling and more.

This year, rodeo boosters have added two concerts. The Sammy Steele Band will play immediately following the Aug. 23 rodeo and Aces Up will perform following the Aug. 24 evening performance. The concerts are included with a ticket purchase. Organizers also have added a beer garden and The Long Horn Bar and Grill will be barbecuing.

The Enumclaw event is part of the Northwest Pro Rodeo Association, which sanctions events throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho. There are nearly three dozen rodeos taking place between late May and early September, with the NPRA finals slated for Sept. 20-21.

The Enumclaw Pro Rodeo is a nonprofit organization aimed at raising money for youth development and programs. Last year the rodeo committee donated more than $5,000 to the King County 4-H program.
