Enumclaw residents can do some serious spring cleaning this week.

The city offers its annual recycling collection event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 19 at the Enumclaw Expo Center while the King County Wastemobile will be in town June 18-20 to collect household hazardous waste.

The city event will allow for the free disposal of motor oil and filters, antifreeze, lead acid batteries, household batteries, cardboard, household recyclables and more. Also accepted, but carrying a fee, will be tires, propane tanks, porcelain toilets and sinks, appliances and scrap metal, refrigerators and freezers.

The event does not allow for construction or demolition debris, mattresses, furniture, window glass or plastic toys or hoses.

The event is for city residents only.

The county’s Wastemobile will be staffed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each each of the three days in the Expo Center’s north parking lot.

Restrictions include: no latex paint; a 30-gallon limit on gasoline; a limit of 50 gallons of total waste per day; no containers larger than 5 gallons; a limit of 10 fluorescent tubes or bulbs; and a limit of five automobile batteries.

Wastemobile staff ask that products are not mixed and are kept in original containers. Products should be secured so they do not leak or tip over.
