WEAPONS VIOLATION: Officers were dispatched to a local business July 2 to investigate a weapons violation. A store employee said a man came in with a suspicious looking gun he wanted to use as collateral for a loan. The gun was homemade and had a short barrel. Officers contacted the man who explained he did research on homemade guns and the legality behind barrel lengths. Officers confirmed the gun was not legal to possess because the barrel length was too short. The gun was confiscated.
