A fatal crash occurred on SR 164 in the early evening last night.

Around 7 p.m., a Renton-area resident driving a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle in the eastbound lane attempted to speed past traffic, according to a Washington State Patrol report.

However, a Covington-area resident driving a 2016 Volvo was turning left into a private driveway; the first driver struck the second and was tossed from the bike. First responders found him dead on arrival.

The second driver was uninjured.

The road was closed for roughly three-and-a-half hours.
