YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties recently released the names of Sumner YMCA’s co-chairs. Gary Petersen and Robyn DeLorm are a father-daughter team from Sumner’s Petersen Brother’s, Inc.

“My father and I are extremely honored to have the opportunity to work with the community to bring a YMCA to Sumner. This addition to our city will be one more reason Sumner is a wonderful place to live, work and play.  The Y’s positive impact on our community will be felt for generations to come far surpassing our lifetimes,” DeLorm said in a press release.

As reported by Daniel Nash in this week’s issue of the Bonney Lake/Sumner Courier-Herald, the Sumner YMCA is proposed to open in summer 2015. It will boast 100,000 square feet, making it 30 percent larger than the Gig Harbor facility.
