Fifty-foot flames were shooting through the roof of the house on the 19100 block of 107th Street East in Bonney Lake when the firefighters arrived to battle the blaze just before midnight Thursday. They were met by a neighbor, who had noticed the fire and called 9-1-1.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Pat Beers reported that no one was home at the time of the fire.

The cause is under investigation. The house is a total loss. No one was injured.
