The annual sights and sounds associated with the Fourth of July already are permitted in Buckley, which provides a nine-day window for discharging fireworks. The legal period began at noon Monday and continues until noon Tuesday.

Enumclaw takes a stricter approach, allowing the discharge of fireworks for 14 hours – from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. on the Fourth.

The section of the Enumclaw city code addressing fireworks also notes that fireworks may not be thrown from or toward a moving vehicle; may not be discharged in city parks; can be sold from June 28 through July 4; and may not be sold to anyone younger than 16.
