Fireworks use allowed in Sumner beginning Monday

Fireworks are allowed in Sumner during the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. until noon on July 6 as long as they are not detonated in a street or on public property.

In Bonney Lake the hours of lawful fireworks use are the same, but beginning on July 3. On July 4, people may light fireworks until midnight, and are allowed on July 5 until 11 p.m. again.

East Pierce Fire & Rescue encourages revelers to attend public fireworks shows instead of putting on their own displays, but offers a few tips to stay safe while celebrating Independence Day.
