The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch and Winter Storm Warning today for much of the region as rain continues to soak the area with no sign of letting up.
More than two inches of rain are expected in some areas and flooding is expected in low lands and along urban streams and rivers in King and Pierce counties, including the Puyallup.
A flood watch means conditions are favorable to flooding but flooding is not imminent or occurring.
Drivers are also warned to watch for water over the roadways and to avoid driving though it if possible.
Landslides may also be expected along steep slopes and small streams as already saturated ground may give way.
Snow is also possible in higher elevations, including the passes.
