Sumner Downtown Association Executive Director Arla Holzschuh said the Sumner Community Food Bank is seeing an increase in demand this year.

In an effort to meet this demand, Coleman American Allied Van Lines is parking a van at the intersection of Kincaid and Main in Sumner on Saturday morning and the van can be filled with items for the food bank. The most-needed food items are canned meats, vegetables, fruit, canned stews, soups and pasta.

Hygiene items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and shampoo are needed.
