The Sumner School District will host four graduation events from June 3 to June 7, including the Bonney Lake and Sumner high school graduation ceremonies, a ceremony for the first graduating class of the district’s alternative program, and a ceremony and potluck for students of the International Baccalaureate program.
On June 3 at 5 p.m., the International Baccalaureate program will host its graduation ceremony in the Performing Arts Center of Sumner High School. The “IB” program is a comprehensive and advanced high school curriculum, locally offered through the Sumner High School campus, that can translate to college credit.
On June 4 at 5 p.m., the Elhi Hill High School Program will host its graduation ceremony in the Board of Directors’ chambers in the Sumner School District administrative building. Elhi Hill is an alternative learning program established in fall 2012 after the closure of the White River Alternative Program to students in partnering districts.
Students of IB and the Elhi Hill programs can still walk in the graduation ceremonies of the “parent schools” in which they are enrolled.
The Sumner High School graduation ceremony will be held June 6 at 7 p.m., in the White River Amphitheatre northwest of Enumclaw on state Route 164.
The Bonney Lake High School graduation ceremony will be held June 7 at 6 p.m., in the Kent ShoWare center.
