Two men were taken to the hospital after a collision Friday morning on state Route 410 that forced the closure of the highway.
According to the report, a 19-year-old Bonney Lake was traveling east on SR410 at approximately 7 a.m. and attempted to make a left turn near 240th Avenue East, just outside of the Bonney Lake city limits. As he was turning, he was struck by another vehicle traveling west on the highway.
The vehicles came to rest on the westbound shoulder.
Both vehicles were reported totaled and both drivers were transported to Tacoma General Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was a 20-year-old man from Buckley.
Washington State Department of Transportation closed the highway for approximately 40 minutes and drivers were detoured on to smaller roads and around the accident.
The cause of the accident is listed as failure to yield and charges are pending.
