Oct. 16
Theft of Vehicle Plate: A person called to report the front license plate had been stolen from their vehicle while shopping at a retail store on state Route 410. No suspect information was available at the time.
Oct. 17
Theft from Vehicle: A resident of 65th Street East reported a vehicle break-in which resulted in stolen change and a broken door handle. Nothing of significant value was taken and no investigative leads were available.
Voyeurism: Police responded to a call of alleged voyeurism at about 2 p.m. Upon investigation, the subject admitted to asking the victim for nude photographs and making lewd comments as she was attempting to shower privately. He was booked into Pierce County Jail on one count of voyeurism.
Gas Tank Tampering: A person called to report someone had drilled a hole in his vehicle’s gas tank while it was unattended at a parking lot on Sky Island Drive. During investigation, police found metal shavings and a trail of gasoline where the vehicle was parked. There were no suspects at the time of report.
Oct. 18
Hit and Run: Police responded to the report of a truck which hit two parked vehicles and then left the scene. A witness recorded the subject’s license plate number and officers were able to contact the driver at their residence. No one was injured during the collisions and the driver was issued a hit and run citation.
Disturbing the Peace: Officers responded to reports of a loud party on North Vista Drive East, at about 11:15 p.m. The subject responsible for the party, a 20-year-old male, was booked into Puyallup Jail for disturbing the peace and minor in possession of alcohol.
Oct. 19
Theft from Boat: A resident of Vandermark Road East reported a theft from his boat, which occurred sometime in the week prior. A CD player and amp were stolen and the dash sustained damage from the theft. Nothing of evidentiary value was found during investigation.
Shoplifting: Two subjects were caught shoplifting at a SR 410 retail store. They acquired an item inside the store, took it to customer service and conducted a fraudulent no-receipt return. Officers were able to stop and detain them in the parking lot. The duo was recognized on surveillance from a separate theft incident the day before. They were issued citations of theft in the 3rd degree for both shoplifting incidents.
Oct. 20
Attempted Prowl: An officer responded to the report of an attempted vehicle prowl that occurred sometime between 1 and 9 a.m. The suspect wasn’t able to gain entry but the vehicle was damaged during the attempt. There was no suspect information available.
Vandalism: At approximately 11 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the Bonney Lake Senior Center to investigate a vandalism report. A glass picnic table appeared to be shattered by a landscaping brick. A case number was provided but there was no suspect information available.
Multiple Prowls: A vehicle prowl occurred sometime over night on 104th Street Court East. One resident’s passenger window was smashed in and items from inside the vehicle were stolen. The responding officer was flagged down by a second neighborhood resident, who said her vehicle was rummaged through the night before but nothing was taken. After completing the investigation, another officer responded to a vehicle theft in the same neighborhood. No suspect information was available at the time of report.
More Gas Tank Tampering: A malicious mischief report was filed by a person who parked their vehicle at a Sky Island Drive parking lot a few days prior on Oct. 17. Someone drilled a hole in the vehicle’s gas tank while it was left unattended. This was the second report of gas tank tampering that day and there was no suspect information at the time of report.
Oct. 23
Residential Burglary: A resident of 198th Avenue East reported a residential burglary that occurred earlier in the day. A neighbor observed a strange vehicle in the victim’s driveway and notified the homeowner. The garage door was open and several items were stolen from inside. Officers located the driver of the vehicle, who admitted taking the items but claimed he had made arrangements to purchase them. He was arrested for a criminal arrest warrant issued by Washington State Patrol, residential burglary and theft in the 2nd degree.
