Get crafty this weekend with classes at the Sumner library

The Sumner Pierce County Library is hosting a free event for artistic people of all ages from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the library.

Crafters of all ages and skill levels will be able to participate in three different classes.

The day begins with “It’s in the bag!” from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., a class in which individual crafters and families will decorate holiday tote bags. All supplies will be provided.

Next up is “Decorative Fabric Bowls” from 1 to 4 p.m., a class or “avid crafters and those who sew.” Participants will work with Linda Johnson in this class. Participants will need to bring some supplies. Registration is required through a sign-up at the library or by calling 253-863-0441.

Families may also browse a display of books and ideas in the children’s area and take a craft to go in the “Crafts for Little Fingers” section.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Sumner Library. The Sumner Pierce County Library is located at 1116 Fryar Ave.
