Glacier students take top honors

Local teams fared well in the recent Plateau League Knowledge Bowl finals, paced by the championship squad from Glacier Mountain Middle School in Buckley. The competition was staged March 18 at Thunder Mountain Middle School in Enumclaw and included 15 teams from eight schools.

Local teams fared well in the recent Plateau League Knowledge Bowl finals, paced by the championship squad from Glacier Mountain Middle School in Buckley.

The competition was staged March 18 at Thunder Mountain Middle School in Enumclaw and included 15 teams from eight schools.

The winning squad from GMS – under the guidance of teacher/adviser Joe Frame – consisted of Anthony Alvarado, Ethan Antonius, Willow Chernoske, Natalie Cox, Thomas Cox, Taryn Gaulke, Katie Hunter, Emmaline Lenz, Jiaxuan Ning, Trevor Smith, Luci Tolic and Max Wheeler.

Teams from Thunder Mountain Middle School took second and third place; fourth went to Columbia/Surprise Lake; fifth place went to Orting’s Team 1; and tied for sixth were GMS Team 2 and Orting Team 2.
